• Studied for the exam during my internship period so for all of you wondering if it’s possible to study with work , yes it’s definitely doable
• Before I start with the resources I used, I’ll just give a brief outline on how you can prepare during hectic work hours without much hassle.
• Try shifting your departments in such a way that you have the easier ones towards the months leading to your exam date.
• Solve the Q Banks during work hours because answering qs is easier than having to read from somewhere. I solved as many questions possible while on duty and revised those topics after I came back home. This method should save you from any stress because you’ll simultaneously be finishing revision as well as brushing up on the questions.
⭐️ Total time - Approx 5-6 months (Started in September but was a little on and off because I was working )
⭐️ Sources : Plabable / Plabable Gems/ Plab Keys / Medrevisions Mocks / UKMed Mocks
✅I started off my prep with reading Plab Keys chapter wise and simultaneously solving the Plabable Q bank.
✅Repetitive revision is extremely important because once I finished Plabable and Plab Keys the first time (took approx 5-6 weeks) I felt like I couldn’t recollect the initial topics I had done. That’s completely normal for everyone. I went through Plab Keys and Plabable about 3 times. The main thing to focus on would be the explanations and why each answer is chosen for each q.
✅After this I started solving as many Medrevisions Mocks as possible to get an idea on where I stand. An important thing to note here would be to use this as a learning tool, so even if you score less it doesn’t matter. Make sure you understand where you made mistakes.
✅All of the mocks I had timed at 150 mins so that it would be a good practice for the exam.
✅UKMed Mocks are similar to plabable so I wouldn’t suggest as a mandatory resource. I just did it because I was a little paranoid about my prep.
✅Along with the Medrevisions Mocks, I did all the Plabable Big Mocks (again timed at 150 mins).
✅After I was a little satisfied with my prep I moved onto Plabable mocks in the last lap of prep , so that it would serve as a revision of plabable as well. Also, please don’t base your Plabable mock score as a final deciding criteria on whether you’ll pass or fail. Again, it’s a learning tool.
✅Last two weeks of prep, I focussed on the flagged / wrong questions of plabable and went through all my notes. Last 2-3 days I had the energy to only go through Plabable Gems and I strongly feel they are useful since everything is concised into flashcards.
I’m super grateful to my support system Varija Siri and my study buddy Prem for the constant motivation to keep going even when things got hectic 😊
